"A mother told me not so long ago that her health visitor told her
breastmilk 'turns to water' after 6 months"
Since when is water white? (except when it runs rapidly down a
steep incline) With all these ideas about big changes at a certain
age, "no nutrition past a year" "turns to water at..." etc. I can't
help but wonder what is the marvalous mechanism of an internal clock
that knows these times so exactly! And does this magical clock that
causes abrupt changes in milk content based on actual birth date or
conceptual birth date? What happens during a leap year, does it
change a day earlier? If a baby is born at 7 AM, does the milk
change at 7 AM on the appropriate date or is it OK until midnight
that day? What about cultures in which the day changes at sunset
rather than midnight? Oh the questions this idea raises. So much
easier when you watch the baby rather than the clock or the
calander!
