As someone who admittedly knows almost nothing about surgery, anaesthesia, I
am wondering if the anaesthetic given during this surgery is different from
the general anaesthesia used for some Caesarean sections. If it is, could
the mother perhaps discuss other options (e.g. having the same medication as
would be given for a C-section) with the doctor?
