In my view, you should do it. The "other guys" will be there as exhibitors,
just like you. Your visibility is needed. Some of the bigger "other guys"
may have a huge display area with Sweet Young Things in shorts handing out
samples.

The only potential conflict I see is if one of the "other guys" is a major
sponsor of the event. Usually the sponsors are Babies-R-Us and a major
local media outlet.

Go for it, but make your display as professional as you can. Get colleagues
to attend the booth with you. You'll need the help to talk to the people -
plus lunch and RR breaks, and 'cruise the floor' breaks.
