Hi, Ann: I recommend whatever works! Assuming no underlying problems -
mom is returning to work, etc. - I recommend whatever she got as a shower
gift first (most of my moms get at least a few bottles/nipples, even tho
they say they're bfing). If the baby is refusing that, then I recommend
she buy 1 package of nipples of another type and try that. The most
important recommendation is exploring with her her baby's nursing pattern
as well as her milk flow pattern. Like deciding what pump to buy, the
nipple type she is likely to be successful with is the one that most
closely matches her own nipple and milk flow patterns, as well as the
baby's nursing patterns.
