It's me again. Feel a little silly because I see that Jaundice has been
addressed in a number of posts this week. (My email was down for a couple
of days and I got behind!) However, I still don't see specific
information about bilirubin levels and treatment suggestions--i.e.
phototherapy, supplementation . . . . Seems like around here many doctors
just automatically are telling moms whose babies are slightly jaundiced to
supplement with a small amount of formula after feeds until the levels go
down :( This is not a new problem, I was just wondering if this was based
on any current recommendations. I always have cited the 1994 AAP
guidelines to moms who have asked me about jaundice treatment. In fact, I
did that today. Are these guidelines still current?
