"There's a pediatrician who tells parents that there's no nutrition in
breastmilk past one year, and that the child should be weaned. I would
appreciate any evidence-based literature." --Mardrey Swenson

Darillyn is right when she says it's as silly as asking for a research
article to prove that grass is green. How about: water stops being wet
once you turn 5? Chocolate stops having calories once a woman reaches
puberty? Bread decides whether or not to have B vitamins depending on the
age of the person eating the sandwich? Breastmilk is food, and food has
nutrients.

Giving this doctor the benefit of the doubt, he might have meant to say that
he thought that consuming a balanced diet would be beneficial, and that the
child should be invited to eat with the family at all mealtimes and offered
a wide variety of appetizing and nutritious foods to complement the
wonderful breastmilk she is so very fortunate to receive.
