I am really not very familiar w/ all the ramifications of this condition. I
am assuming the weaning advice is due to the fact that bf is a low estrogen
situation and low estrogen worsens this condition. However, you are right to
suggest that weaning seems drastic.
Dr. Jack so often says that doctors give advice but do not command. So the
mother should ask the doctor for all of her options for treatment and should
seek a second opinion if necessary. There are physical therapists that work
w/ women on these types of conditions as well. Perhaps the estrogen cream
will work well and bf can happily continue.
