I noticed (and please don't beat me if I'm wrong) that most of the skeptical
and negative responses to the "fairy dust" comment are those who are outside
the US. Little children in the US were raised on Disney (sorry, it's our white
bread fantasy world) and I think we have a different perspective on what
"fairy dust" means. In my opinion, it is going to be difficult - has been all along
- to share the benefits and good reasons to breastfeed while addressing the
skeptics viewpoints. (I'm so sick of the "yes, buts") I've been using the seat
belt/car seat analogy quite a bit lately, and hope that I can formulate some
snappy answers repsonding to the health issues. There are no guarantees in
life but if we can do something to possibly improve outcomes, why not? It's a
personal commitment and some people have problems with those. <smile>
Thanks for letting me share my opinion.
