How sad and appaling that this mother is being treated this way!
Would there be such concern if the child was the same petite size
and had been bottle fed? Or if the "experts" didn't know she was
still nursing? From the description, it doesn't sound like the
child is actually geting enough breastmilk to be considered
breastFEEDING. If the child is healthy and development is on track,
what the *&@# is the concern!! Does their concern mean that the
other petite adult family members are also "undernourished"?
I'm glad this mom has found a better doc. The original one and the
endochrinologist need to be fired! Telling someone, "I'm not saying
stop breastfeeding, but...'risk jeopardizing longterm health'...and
'purposely harm her child'" is appaling. And they tell us we make
moms "feel guilty". Sheesh!
Turning down rant and exiting soapbox (for now).
