Any mom who has given birth, especially one who has had a number of
babies, could be considered an "expert" on childbirth, and you might
ask about her experiences and any advice she may offer, but you
wouldn't choose her as your pregnancy helath care provider unless
she also was certified (documented?) as a midwife or doctor.  If a
person has some level beyond personal experience, reading a lot,
attending some education, etc. then they should be identifying
themselves more with that than just "expert".  Of course, we would
like the IBCLC certification to become accepted as the standard for
professional "experts".  Other than that, someone might say, "Im an
RN who had taken the time to educate myself beyond what I got in
nursing school about breastfeeding." or "I am an experienced mom who
has sought out additional information to round out my own experience
so I can help other moms."
