There are several posts in the archives telling about the use of Rescue
Remedy. I'll write a short explanation. It is a combination of 5 calming
plants made into a tincture. Some manufacturers call it Five Flower
Formula. The original was Rescue Remedy and that it the brand that I use.
Dosage is 4 drops.
It can be used directly under the tongue (4 drops) or in glasses of liquid.
It is generally for calming and I recommend it for many of my clients in
the newborn period. I find that it does facilitate a MER or let down of
milk. I assume that it does so because of the calming effect.
It is found in natural food stores in many countries of the world. A 10ml
bottle costs about $9-10 and lasts a long time.
My clients find it very helpful when they return to work, both for
lessening their anxiety and for initiating a let down when pumping. Use of
this product is part of my experiential evidence gleaned over a period of
about 10 years.
