Here is one way to set automatic news alerts:

Go to www.google.com

Above the search term box you will read "Web Images Groups News Froogle
More>>"

Click on news.

Put in the search term you wish to be alerted to and hit return.

At the bottom of the results page, you will see  New! Get the latest news on
YOUR SEARCH TERM with Google News Alerts.

Click on your search term, which will be blue and underlined.

Now you will be on a page that invites you to create your own news alert.
Your search term is already filled in.  All you add is your email address
and hit "Create Alert."

Now you can return to the Google Alerts home page to set more alerts.

You will receive an email asking you to confirm your alert--just click on
the line asking you to verify your news alert.
