We just started a new group this year at my hospital. I toyed and toyed with
different names, thought about something catchy then just went with New Moms
Support Group... I was going to call it the Breastfeeding moms support group
but then decided that I didn't want to exclude any new moms that needed
support, it has been very interesting that the vast majority of moms that
are attending are breastfeeding ones, we have had a few formula feeding moms
come and I think it has been a great learning tool for them to see moms so
easily and happily breastfeeding..... Our meting is very informal I move the
tables and cover the floor with blankets , the hospital provides juice, and
graham crackers and I usually make muffins or the like, I do not get paid to
do the group but it is so much fun to play with all the babies. We don't
have a formal class, moms come with questions and I just answer, I also take
a scale in for moms to weigh babes.... Cindy
