Surgeon told her she would not be able to BF for at least 48
hours (AARGH).

This is TOTALLY unnecessary. Mom should be able to breastfeed (or at least
pump and see that baby gets the milk) within hours of the surgery. Did the
surgeon ever consider womeh who deliver by cesarean who breastfeed within hours
of the birth? Hmmmm? BTW, It is fairly common for women to have gall bladder
problems after a pregnancy and the pain from a GB attack is excrutiating
especially if a gall stone is blocking a bile duct.
