Interesting how it varies in English also. My grandfather in eastern
Kentucky refers to breastfeeding as being "on the breast." He delighted
me early on by asking how long my son would be on the breast, two years?
Has Kentucky a significant amount of people rooting in The Netherlands?
"having a child at the breast" or "on the breast" is a very day to day referral
to breastfeeding or being a breastfeeding mom in Dutch. Could be a combination
of Dutch into English.
Warmly,
