I agree that babies spend too much time in buckets and out of loved
ones' arms. However, perhaps part of the reason there is such an
increase in this diagnosis is that we think it's a problem and people
ask the doctor about it and the doc has to give it a name (and some
treatment).
My kids spent minimal time in buckets or anywhere else outside of lying
dow, in our arms, or on our chests (upright or lying down). It never
occurred to me to bring the car seat inside (see how naive I was!) They
were fully breast fed and three of my kids were spitters. All day,
every where for 6 months. I was a spitter when I was a baby too, so it
never occurred to me that it was a problem, just one of those normal
variations on what babies are like.
