Dear Friends:
A young woman I have known since she was about 11, has grown up, gotten
married and delivered her baby last week. She intended to breastfeed as soon as
she learned she was pregnant.
The baby got jaundiced and rehospitalized; I don't know why the baby
developed jaundice. The pediatrician recommended stopping breastfeeding and giving
the baby formula during phototherapy. This young woman talked with a
lactation consultant, fired that pediatrician and found another one that permitted her
to continue breastfeeding.
This young woman is 21, and already an awesome mother!
warmly,
