I trust you mean placenta here (not uterus!)

she writes;
Has been in bed all week (baby is 5 days old) except day
two to go to the GP for baby check-up
Baby was born 10lbs, 10oz., now weighing 10lbs 5 oz.
Mom hears and
observes swallowing and a content baby post feeds. Baby is nursing often -
every hour to every 2 and a half. Nurses all night (co-sleeps).<<

What was the weight on day 2?

she writes;
 Mom is not getting more than a few
ounces when pumping but I don't see that as an accurate indication of milk
supply<<

If she gets that much DESPITE feeding that frequently- she has nothing to
worry about-in terms of supply anyway.
If she is as worried as you suggest (and nothing sounds worrisome other than
HER concern) she should just keep doing what she is doing AND watch the weight
closely. She should also use compression.
