Also try IBLCE in looking for help in Michigan. For various and sundry
reasons, not every IBCLC is a member of ILCA. For example, money, i.e.,
the lack thereof, can be a barrier in many situations. Case in point:
there is no student fee for ILCA membership, which would be enormously
helpful for those of us pinching it through graduate school. That said,
this agnostic is reminded of the late Mother Teresa and her colleagues,
their vows of poverty, and all they have and will accomplish. However,
their order has accepted and does accept much in the way of monetary
donations in order to help those who are profoundly less fortunate.
So, for those of you who list ILCA as the only resource in locating a board-
certified lactation consultant, I believe it would be far more helpful to
the consumer to have IBLCE as the listed resource in this regard.
Very much hoping to become an ILCA member one of these days,
