i'm kind of an armchair anthropologist and was interested in the
differences in 'primitive' (for lack of a better word....can someone
help me out there?) cultures in terms of amount of time spent cycling,
v. 'modern' cultures.
in the kung san it was something like 11% of a woman's 'adult' life (as
defined by age of sexual maturation) v. our 80%.
i'm thinking the cycling isn't a necessary part of successful
breastfeeding *in the absence* of physiological issues that would both
cause menstrual irregularities and breastfeeding problems.
am I wrong?
