Can I add a belated addendum to the Amoxicillin and if Mom is allergic discussion? I am a little slow because I have traveled to Long Island from sunny SFl for my daughter's birth of her first child....its sooo cold I think the kid won't come out until spring...I digress....Many years ago I discovered my own allergy to Amoxicillin and my son's while we were a nursing couplet and I had mastitis and he had an ear infection...we both got hives...years later while working in NICU I was administering Ampicillin and it sprayed over both myself and my friend who was working with me and we both needed dosing with Benadryl...so the answer is yes you can get a reaction from touching it.
