Esther Grunis asked
I have a more difficult question? Why do so many BABIES choose not to
breastfeed?
Judy Le Van Fram replies and then asks in her post:
Is it environmental contamination taking a toll on their neuromotor systems
in subtle ways?
The answer is that probably they cannot easily learn to breastfeed from a
neurological change in utero. See the Mullenix quote below. Phyllis
Mullenix Phd did a 15 year fluoride toxicity study on rats, found that it
crossed the placenta and the blood/brain barrier (which was proven by
Jennifer Luke Phd of England in 2000, as fluoride concentrates in the pineal
gland and also causes early puberty). Mullenix was so alarmed by the rat
study outcomes (ADD and hyperactivity) she took her whole family off of all
fluoridated water and fluorides, including toothpaste.
Esther, Tel Aviv is fluoridated. I did not know that when I visited my
childhood friend in 1998 and I became quite ill for the whole visit, as I
have a liver that cannot get rid of fluoride easily from water, food or
medicine.

In the 1995 article appearing in the journal Neurotoxicology and Teratology,
Dr. Phyllis J Mullenix states,
"Still unexplored, however, is the possibility that fluoride exposure is
linked with subtle brain dysfunction. This is the first study to demonstrate
that central nervous system output is vulnerable to fluoride, that the
effects on behavior depend on the age at exposure and that fluoride
accumulates in brain tissues. Of course behaviors per se do not extrapolate,
but a generic behavioral pattern disruption as found in this rat study can
be indicative of potential for motor dysfunction, IQ deficits and/or
learning disabilities in humans. Substances that accumulate in brain tissue
potentiate concerns about neurotoxic risk."

JOURNAL TITLE: Neurotoxicity of Sodium Fluoride in Rats

The carefully designed animal experiment which they report revealed subtle
but very real changes in behavior patterns following fluoride ingestion:
hyperactivity after prenatal exposure, and cognitive deficits after weanling
and adult exposure. Fluoride accumulation in important regions of the rat
brain, especially the hippocampus, was found to increase as the drinking
water fluoride levels increased. These effects, and the sex differences
observed, corresponded to those observed in other studies of hippocampal
brain damage.
