From the earlier description of mechanical problems with this
device, I wonder if it is assembled correctly? It is possible and
easy to assemble the yellow disc and white valve 4 ways, only one of
which is correct. The white valve can go on the right side or the
wrong side of the yellow disc and the yellow disc can be placed
right side up or wrong side up. For the Starter SNS, the Habrman
and the fingerfeeder, a helpful mnemonic is that the white valve is
"soup". The yellow disc is the soup "bowl". The soup goes in the
bowl (in other words, inside the raised lip). Then the "soup"
should go directly to the baby (in other words, the white valve
faces the baby). One potential confusing factor is that when the
yellow disc is placed correctly on top of the container it is
actually loose and may seem wrong. When it is placed wrong side up,
it seems to "fit" snugly and may seem right. I make sure I point
this out when instructing parents (and staff) in the use of these
devices.
Again, I have no financial interest in this or any other company,
just have these objects i(and others) n our "bag of tricks" when
working with breastfeeding challenges.

Winnie
