Is this different than a parent asking whether "there's a definitive 'best'
time to breastfeed (effectively) (again) after breastfeeding (in order) to
optimize production"?

Wouldn't we basically say it's like Nike -- Just do it! Yes, time of day,
situation, individual differences, etc. seems to influence, but removing milk
effectively when possible vs. waiting for some "best" time that may or may not
"fit" a particular family seems counterproductive.

I've known mothers do all kinds of pumping routines, and it tends to boil
down to doing what is going to get in adequate pumping sessions while working
with other aspects of the woman's life. Gettin in adequate amount/number of
pumping in, generally adequate milk volume produced (unless some other underlying
issue).
