<<insignificant appearing

even with a seemlingly insignificant or marginal tongue tie, it's
amazing how much it can affect feeding. In a recent situation here in
atl, it was quite an effort to find someone who would clip the
frenulum - b/c no one felt it was significant enough to contribute to
the breastfeeding difficulties. Never mind that dad was unable to
breastfeed as an infant even though his two brothers nursed for a year.
Never mind that dad had his frenulum clipped when he was six b/c of
speech issues:)
I finally talked a ped dentist into doing it (reluctantly), but that
same day we found and ENT who would do it (reluctantly), in his office
instead of the OR (very reluctantly).
The nipple pain mom had experienced for 3 weeks vanished immediately.
Moms insecurity surrounding her ability to feed this baby really took
about six weeks to heal (and this in someone who had nursed her other
child for four years).
