Teens see an empty or emptying laundry basket, and this is a
physiological spur, that 'tells their bodies' to fill it (often with
garments they have worn for a few minutes, but maybe that's just my
family....).

If you leave the laundry basket untouched for a while so the laundry
piles up, this 'tells their bodies' to stop putting in more of the
dirty stuff, so the production cycle of dirty-clean-dirty laundry
slows down.
Dear Friends:
I LOVE this analogy. Relating bf to teens and laundry baskets is yet one
more example of how wonderfully creative we LACTNUTs are!

(whose teenaged daughter now does her own laundry because I got tired of the
fights about washing clean clothes, i.e. clothes that had been worn for 10
minutes.)
