Any one else see this? I just received this issue today.

In the latest issue (January 2004) of Good Housekeeping magazine, p. 69, is
Health news. The title of a column "Risky pill for nursing moms" is about
domperidone. It starts out by stating that you'll catch the buzz on domeridone on
the internet. "It is approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics, gushes a
message at www.breastfeedingonline.com. True? No. The AAP isn't even in the
business of approving drugs. And the FDA, the agency that does review
medications, hasn't given its OK either." It goes on to say "Because it doesn't appear
to cause harmful side effects as other 'milk boosting' medications can, a few
U.S. doctors are writing prescriptions for domperidone, to be filled by a
compounding pharmacist. Here's the problem: Such prescriptions aren't legal. More
troubling, most women who want the drug are ordering illegal imports through
online pharmacies-without confirming that they have a true milk-supply problem."

I checked goodhousekeeping.com & they do not have this on their web site. You
would have to buy or borrow a copy of the magazine to read the complete
column. Maybe a few letters to the editor are in order here. I do know that the
drug is approved by AAP for breastfeeding moms in their listing of drugs and
breastfeeding. I don't know anything about the legal aspects though.
