Hi all,
I always seem to have something weird going on in my office.
Case history
Infant born 15 months ago to a first time mom at age 48.
Planned c-section no problems with pregnancy or delivery.
Infant had difficulty with latch but mom worked through it.
Nursed exclusively for 6 months then added solids. Still nursing at present
No delays is growth and has meet all his milestones
Sick last week with pneumonia and hospitalized for 3 days, IV antibiotics.
Now the weird. His Alkaline phosphatase went from 1500 to 1700 then on a
fasting test was 2300. norm in our lab is 0-380 U/L
One ped is saying ? Rickets ( and looking at the bf as possible cause)
All other test are normal: Liver, blood count, calcium, Phosphorus
The toddler's doctor has called me asking question. Anyone have any
thoughts on this situation please respond.
Thanks so much,
What would I do with out all of you!!!
