Dear Friends:
Please remember that human milk is not magic fairy dust. It does not
confer high intelligence, great beauty, complete life-long health, and the ability
to 'leap tall buildings at a single bound.'
Breastfeeding is like wearing a seat belt; no guarantee of life, but
skewing the odds SO MUCH in favor of life and health that it is worth it to do.
For the mother of the 3 year-old with diabetes I say, thank god you
nursed for as long as you did!
