LDRP=Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and is also referred to
as "single room maternity care". For many years, women would labor
in one room, be moved to a delivery room, than after the birth they
went to a recovery room for a couple hours before winding up in a
postpartum room. Now more and more hospitals are doing normal (or
as close to that as we get) deliveries without moving mom around.
The equipment moves instead of the mom. Of course, when there are
severe complications that may require immediate operative
intervention and for C Sections, moms still go to a surgical room
and recovery room, but usually return to the same room to which they
were admitted.

CRNA-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. These nurses with
advanced training in anesthesia serve as assistants to
anesthesiologists and in some instances can act independently with
backup of an anesthesiologist. They are trained in complex neonatal
resuscitation (including use of meds in a resuscitation) and that is
why some hospitals have them at deliveries. They are also called on
to start those very difficult IVs at least where I work.
