Pat,
My own experience has been quite the opposite. With four children, I
experienced lactational ammenorrhea for 20 months, 18 months, 16 months, 14 months.
With the first three, I dropped weight quickly going back to my prepregnancy
weight with little or no effort, but I noticed that I had a bit more fat in
my abdominal area each time. I felt that this was the reason my cycle
returned earlier each time. Age and four babies seem to have caught up with me as
my youngest will be five in a week, and I still am carrying around an extra 15
pounds!
Aloha,
Gloria Thai
