This may be one of the most incredible things I have heard about nursing
through a pregnancy.
A mother was told by her doctor that continuing to nurse during her
pregnancy (she is 35 weeks) would result in cerebral palsy/death in her new
baby. The CP would be caused by breastfeeding-triggered uterine
contractions leading to oxygen deprivation for the baby in utero. Never
mind about all the non-breastfeeding-triggered uterine contractions (like
labor...)!
I was rendered (almost) speechless. Mother had a previous stillbirth and
this is what the doctor told her to do to prevent losing this baby as well.
