Reading about the issue of moms breastfeeding at Girl Scout meetings is interesting to me, as it very much defines how our culture impacts such normal aspects of life. I am a Girl Scout co-Leader of a homeschooled troop. Every single child in the group (my dd is 11) has been breastfed herself for many years and almost every one has a younger sibling who was also bf for years or is currently nursing (including my 5yr old ds). While we are aware of the guidelines about siblings, we simply do not live within a paradigm that separates mothers from young children and it just would never come up. Our girls would surely have no difficulty with a badge that educates about normal infant care!
