<FCC nurse Evelina Buot uses a wonderful analogy in response to this
question, or reluctance by the new mom. Evelina says "breastfeeding can
be like learning to drive a car, in prenatal breastfeeding class you
learn and prepare from the 'manual', in early postpartum you are 'behind
the wheel' and breastfeeding class is an important part.>
I get it! The prenatal class is not only like learning from the manual,
but like learning at a simulator, while the postnatal is like driver's ed
practice at the wheel, where the rubber is actually meeting the road, and
maybe like having the instructor available at your side with a separate
set of controls in case conditions tend to veer you off the desired lane!
