Note: this has been in my "drafts" file and I don't know if it ever
got sent-have been having some problems with out net connections.
Joi reports that her baby's doctor stated: " if she didn't start
eating 3 meals a day, she'd 'never learn to like anything but
breastmilk and mushy foods'."
My oldest (now 48) was an infant when it was all the rage to start
solids quite early. It almost seemed like you would stop on the way
home from the hospital to pick up some jars of baby food! (I've
sure learned a lot since then!) Even before I was involved in LLL,
I realized this couldn't be right as it came out the other end
looking exactly as it did when it went in! My experience was
exactly the opposite of what this doc warned about. By the time we
were ready to switch from pureed food to even the "chunky" baby
food, he strongly resisted. He seemed to have become convinced that
food was either liquid or "mush". It took us until he was nearly a
year to get him to take anything that wasn't liquid or pureed!
