Dear Friends:
    Barbara Wilson-Clay (I think, and apologies if I remembered the wrong
person!) mentioned wiping the baby scale down with an alcohol wipe in front of
the parents to communicate non-verbally a message of cleanliness.
    With the wonderful scale that I have, I can zero the scale with a baby
blanket on it. I always ask the mother for a blanket to put on the scale; she
gives her blanket, I zero scale with blanket on, and naked baby goes on soft
fluffy personal item.
