I didn't see the new info on the USBC website that Linda referenced,
but I'm glad to hear that there is positive new info.
However, after talking to DHHS officials in writing my article on this
topic (now at: www.hipmama.com ), I never heard from them that there
was any question of the Ad Campaign being "alive". They never said they
planned to kill it, or even admitted publicly that it was delayed.
But I think that the proof will be in what the ads say when they
actually hit the media marketplace. Will the campaign still say "6
months" instead of "4 to 6 months" (I simply ran out of space to get
into that sub-issue in my article but it is my strong impression that
this subtle yet important wording nuance is far from being settled)?
Will it speak of the risks of NOT breastfeeding more than the
"benefits" of breastfeeding?
I will be very interested to see the final product. And I'll be
interested to observe when and on what scale the campaign is finally
released.
Katie, optimistic skeptic ;-)
