Shiela asks:
"Does anyone know of nutritional comparisons between human & rabbit
milk?
More similar than cows milk?"
Actually, I think rabbit milk would be more different from human
milk than some other mammals. Rabbits are "cache" mothers. Baby is
stashed in a nest and mommy only comes to nurse on a very infrequent
basis. Now many humans THINK that's how human babies should nurse,
but I recall hearing that when milks are compared between mammals,
ours is most like the "carry and nurse frequently" mammals.
There was a great discussion of milk of diffeent species at the ILCA
pre Conference this year. I had also heard similar info nearly 20
years ago at a workshop by Karin Caldwell.
