I have a mom who needs to take Nulev. According to 2002 Hale, it has not
be reviewed by the AAP. Hale also says that as with atropine, infants
and children are especially sensitve to anticholinergics and their use is
discouraged....Use with caution.
Now my question is, if mom pumped her milk would the medication dissipate
over time (1/2 life is 3.5 hours)? So if she had to take this med, could
she pump while on it (baby is 2 weeks), let it sit for a day and then use
it without as much caution? I'm sure it's evident that I don't
understand the chemistry of all this.
Warmly,
