I just had a mom ask me about this today. I was always under the impression (could be wrong....) that the the lactase/lactose in human milk was readily absorbed and that newborns could not be "lactose intolerant" via mothers' milk. This lady asked me when it would be appropriate to use soy formula vs. "regular." I must say that I am not too savvy on this topic, tending to defer formula questions as an avoidance technique (smiling here because there is so much more I need to spend time on with them!) so if someone would give me a very basic overview, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
Mary Kay Smith
