DEAR LACTNET,

I want to publicly apologize for the theory that I posed on LACTNET
recently about the B1 formula problem possibly being deliberate. This theory
(and that is ALL that is) was NOT written with the intent of hurting innocent
German people. Unfortunately, it did, and I am deeply sorry for the pain that
it has caused anyone on this public forum.

I would be willing to communicate with anyone PRIVATELY who I have
hurt or offended, and I do have a German friend who could translate a phone call
if you would like to speak on the phone.

One of the things that I have always been proud of is my ability to
work with people of all races, religions, and ethnic groups. I regularly fight
for the rights of all people. To me, every baby deserves to be breastfed.
When I discovered that 5,000 babies in Israel were lacking B1, too many old
notes were struck. I am sorry that my family suffered, but I had no intent of
causing any undue suffering to my German LC colleagues, nursing moms, and
babies. My heart is still laying heavy over the fact that public expression of my
agony lead to causing pain for so many others.

Again, I am truly sorry. Please let us all focus on the real victims in this
case. The LCs, moms, and babies in Israel need our support.
