<From the Lactation standpoint, elective C-section delays the mother's
milk production after birth.>

I would like some references on that statement. It is my impression it is
the hormonal shift following the birth of the placenta that starts the
cascade. I realize the contributing medical complication factors, the
IV's, anesthetics, some medications, and potential delays in starting,
especially if the baby is not with the mother, may well have a delaying
effect on the comfortable establishment of lactation, but that does not
translate strictly into "delays the mother's milk production after
birth".
