Chiming in on this subject, I'd like to add that when moms go home after
using an antibacterial soap in the hospital setting, we all need to join together
to educate her about the need for the heavy-duty cleanser in the hospital
settings where high infection rates exist and the discontinuation of its use once
in their homes. Some of us who do home visits see antibacterial soaps all
over the household to the extent that we're being conducive for yeast to exist
because the normal flora is being tampered with due to the mindset of the
over-cleanliness required for the hospital environment. If we all are mindful to
educate the moms as the reasons for the cleansers in different settings, perhaps
once she's heard it for the 7th time, she'll get it, right? I know that some
moms are overwhelmed and have to hear things again and again, and I often
presume when I'm educating that she's heard the information before even when she
says she hasn't.
