Who works at a hospital with an 85% epidural rate and every time I
try to tell the families in my classes about the risks of epidurals,
I get branded as "anti-epidural."
I hope you wear the badge proudly. Sometimes epidurals can actually
help and result in vaginal births that would surely otherwise have been
c/secs, but not 85% of the time, or even 50% of the time.
Epidurals are not benign. Parents have the right to full information
before they make a decision about them or any other birth, newborn or
pediatric related procedure or intervention.
