Sounds fine to me.  Mom can use her finger instead of the pacifier if
she wants.  I often teach parents to fingerfeed if a little finger
sucking does not teach the baby to get the tongue down.  24 hours
usually does the trick.  Another possible strategy is massaging the
tongue with the pacifier tip or a finger pad while the baby sucks to
increase awareness of where the nipple belongs.
