There have been some excellent suggestions for a course for hospital RNs.
I would add that ILCA's Evidence-based Guidelines for Breastfeeding
Management During the First Fourteen Days summarizes things well and also has
references to read or provide some of the original sources to the class.
It's one of the first things I have our RNs read as a quick guide to their
training. And I developed a Power Point presentation addressing mother's
comfort and posture, baby's positoning and alignment, adn holds of the breast -
showing good and bad examples.
