"Anyone's diet is alright if balanced and adequate. A vegan is no more likely
to have an inadequate diet than a lacto-ovo veg, either (and IMO, the opposite
is true). This is not a vegetarian issue--if it is a dietary issue, then it
is a dietary issue, period. It is of concern to me that so many women have
inferior diets, but b/c those diets look like those of the avg HCP, no one
questions or challenges them."

Karen,
I realize that you were not comparing different veg diets. I was making that comment b/c so many people see lacto-ovo veg as acceptable b/c of the inclusion of animal products. My point was that veg, vegan or omni--it all depends on the quality of the food, not the form the diet takes.
