I want to thank all that answered my question about flu anti-virals for
breastfeeding mothers. I was unable to answer you all and thank you,
because I and all of my family (yes, all six boys :-) except my husband came
down with the flu that same weekend. It was awful, but we all survived.
Things are bad here in North Carolina in this flu season. This particular
strain seems to be hitting children extra hard and the flu shot is not much
help (I had the flu shot and was the first in my family to get it).
FWIW, The mother I was writing about decided to take Tamiflu and siad it
really seemed to shorten the severe period of the flu. She was only
bedridden a couple of days, then ill for several more days. With her
history, she thought this was wonderful.
Thanks again,
Melanie
