Our public health nurse just called - her patient has been treated
topically for a yeast infection x 10 days - but is now developing deep
breast pain with and after breastfeeding. She went to her MD, who ordered
14 days of Diflucan.
BUT - this mom does not have the $ to pay for this expensive medication.
The PHN thinks she can get some funds together to pay for half the
prescription. She called me to ask if this would be more dangerous - to
have the mom not get any at all, or to have her take only 7 days.
Any suggestions? She already went through the Nystatin, gentian violet and
Lotrimin...
