I think with ghost writing it becomes very difficult to apply standards
because in essence one is being lied to in regard to authorship. The publisher and
the reader are at a great disadvantage. One of the examples of ghost writing
involved Wyeth and the drug fen-phen (not sure correct spelling). Quite a
number of women died directly from the use of this drug and a number of women
suffered damage to their hearts. How much of this problem could have been
circumvented, if the research had not been ghost written? We will never really
know.
